Whether hiking a wilderness trail that ends with a waterfall, or waking before dawn to capture a golden shoreline, exploring natural spaces with a camera feeds my soul.
As an art form, outdoor photography is an extension of my senses. It allows me to visually express what I hear, what I touch, what I see and how I feel while experiencing the wonder and beauty of natural places.

still waters, hushed woodlands,
& coastal beauty.
Art and nature are synonymous for me
and there is nothing I love more than exploring a wilderness trail or wandering outdoors with a camera in hand.
Whether I'm hiking in the Ozarks where I live, or traveling beyond its borders, my quest is the same: to make fine art landscape images that capture the song of a stream,
the strength of ancient stones,
the beauty of water,
and the sense of quiet kinship with
our precious earth.

Why "Wanderscapes?"
Curiosity and a sense of adventure guide my steps. Natural beauty guides my eye.
My husband and I live in the Ozarks, where we frequently hike, float and explore in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas. Many trails in the Ozarks are half-wild, and bushwhacking to reach a waterfall isn't uncommon. Nor is finding a side trail to explore.
I always want to see them all.
My husband calls it "wandering."
While brainstorming logo ideas for the art photography arm of my solopreneur company, Sony Hocklander Creative LLC, "Wanderscapes" emerged. It was the
perfect fit!
